Ambler, PA - April 14, 2018 - On April 14th, Dick Moberg presented the history of EEG trends to the Overlook Medical Center, Knowledge Plus, Inc. & Safe Passage Neuromonitoring Neurophysiology Conference: IOM & cEEG in Summit, NJ. Dick has intimate knowledge on this subject: in 1982 he and Gary Trapuzzano developed the Neurotrac, the first commercial EEG machine to plot a trend computed from the EEG, thus launching the field of quantitative EEG (QEEG). The early history of Compressed Spectral Array (CSA) and Amplitude Integrated EEG (aEEG) was discussed. Overall, the field has come a long way since the Neurotrac, with contributions from many individuals and companies.

Also at this meeting, Tracey Berlin, MSN, RN, CNRN, CCRN, who performs training for Moberg ICU Solutions, gave an excellent talk on multimodal monitoring followed by a workshop where attendees learned to configure the trend displays on a variety of EEG machines to match a clinical case that was presented.
