Electroencephalographic Patterns in Neurocritical Care
This month on Brain Matters, Dr. Brian Appavu, MD discusses electroencephalographic patterns in neurocritical care as epiphenomena or direct contributors of brain injury. He highlights the effect that seizures and other EEG patterns may have on other neurophysiologic variables (ABP, CPP, brain tissue oxygenation, etc).
Dr. Appavu is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Child Health at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and serves as an ICU neurologist and epileptologist at the Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children's Hospital.
